Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience, ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital cardiac catheterization lab at a Level I trauma centerProvide care for middle and older adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac proceduresProcedural responsibilities include cardiac implant closure device placement, stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement / removal, PTCA, PCI, rotablader athrectomy, and interpretation of dysrhythmiasDuties include equipment setup, recognition and response to life-threatening arrhythmias, and maintaining sterile techniqueHandle infection control with isolation precautions and sterile techniqueWork schedule is flexible; options include day or variable shifts, such as 5x8, 4x10, or 3x12On-call is required as needed, rotating with staff and agency, supported by a dedicated call teamNo floating to other departments required for this roleUses Cerner EMR; experience with Cerner is requiredFirst-time travelers are acceptedSchedule requests and block scheduling can be discussed with the managerStaff are required to work 2-3 weekends per contract and at least 2 out of 3 major holidays if scheduledScrubs are provided by the facilityA parking permit is required but provided at no costCandidates must not have been employed in a permanent or PRN role at this facility within the past 12 monthsUp to 5 days off can be auto-approved; additional time off requires approvalLab appointments, Docusigns, badge photo, and onboarding must be completed prior to startingNon-clinical modules must be completed virtually on the first day and annuallyRequirements
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settingsActive IL license required if applicableCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted)Experience must include required procedural skills and responsibilities listed for a cardiac cath lab technologistMust be able to provide age-specific care for middle and older adultsCerner EMR experience is requiredBenefits
