Kubernetes OpenShift Application Management DevSecOps Consultant
The DevSecOps / Azure DevOps / OpenShift (Kubernetes) engineer will support large State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Health Services (DHHS) projects, contributing business and technical knowledge to complex IT projects.
Responsibilities include providing leadership and direction, mentoring team members to drive organizational maturity, and consulting with development teams to ensure platform fit is aligned to the business application requirements. Understanding of APIs, micro-services development, containers, and supporting platform technologies is also required.
Qualifications :
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), designing and implementing ADO Wiki, Work Item structures, Pipelines, ADO GIT repos / branches / Pull Requests, and related Standards and Processes.
- Hands-on experience in automating CI / CD needs on RedHat OpenShift / OCP, Linux, Windows, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
- Experience creating ADO Build and Deploy Pipelines to build Apps and container images and deploy using standard ADO tasks for old and new Java and .Net Apps and integrating with Apache Tomcat, JBoss, SQL Server, Windows, Linux, Oracle, etc.
- Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift V4, troubleshooting application issues in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environment, and creating Build, Deployment, and other CRD config files for applications on OpenShift.
- Hands-on experience in creating Docker and S2I images, Stateful sets, and converting existing docker image to an S2I image and vice versa.
- Working knowledge of OpenShift / Kubernetes and Container Orchestration, Custom Helm charts, and maintaining docker Image Repository like Quay.
- Experience and ability to create docker files, images, and containers, and work collaboratively with teams to ensure products are successfully deployed, upgraded, and maintained.
- Deep knowledge and experience with Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) version 8.X and higher, including Elastic stack administration, performance, and capacity management.
- Experience with Logstash and pipeline configuration and grok, Working knowledge of Elastic Beats Filebeat, Heartbeat, and working experience with SonarQube / Coverity / Black Duck and integrating into ADO Pipelines and Pull Request flows.
- Experience with Linux Scripting, .ksh, bash, and Python, and understanding and debugging Java errors.
- Strong knowledge of SSL, TCP / IP Networking, LDAP, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Required Experience and Skills : A total of 8+ years of experience working on Kubernetes / Open Shift.
