Executive Director, Facilities Planning & Construction
The University of Miami / UHealth department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Executive Director, Facilities Planning & Construction to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Executive Director, Facilities Planning & Construction oversees all institutional construction activities for the healthcare enterprise at the medical campus and all clinical and ambulatory care facilities. Specifically, the Executive Director, Facilities Planning & Construction executes all facets of new construction, renovation and renewal and replacement projects.
Responsibilities include : advising managing staff to coordinate all construction projects to ensure they meet budget and time constraints, engaging with external sources and contractors to complete projects on time and within budget, developing and overseeing all construction budgets, serving as the point of contact for facility planning and construction issues, ensuring all work areas meet quality, safety and compliance standards, creating an effective control environment, conducting risk assessment, implementing and monitoring controls, leading various departments to ensure high-quality service, supporting strategic planning for the Facilities Operations and Planning Division, and ensuring projects reflect user needs and compliance with healthcare-specific codes.
Core qualifications include a Master's Degree in a relevant field, minimum 10 years of relevant experience, registered architect preferred, and NCARB certification preferred. Knowledge of business and management principles, ability to direct and manage department operations, ability to establish goals and objectives, ability to plan, delegate, and supervise work, ability to lead, motivate, and develop others, skill in completing assignments accurately, ability to analyze and prioritize work under pressure, ability to work independently and collaboratively, deep knowledge of healthcare codes, strong project management and design review skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, proficiency in design software, ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups, and commitment to the University's core values are also required.
