As the Assistant Produce Manager, you have a role in helping customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service through managing and leading one of the busiest teams in our store.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Maintain freshness standards throughout the department by proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of items
• Assist in leading a team to deliver quality product, high service levels, and a great customer experience
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team
• Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate and maintain produce equipment
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ensure team awareness and adherence
