JOB SUMMARY :    Under general supervision of the Senior Accountant and following established policies and procedures, the Accounting Representative supports the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable processing, general ledger posting, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping. The Accounting Representative ensures accuracy and efficiency in all assigned duties while maintaining compliance with bank policies and procedures. This role provides essential support to the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant, contributing to the overall financial health and success of our community bank.

WORK SCHEDULE : Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 am - 5 : 00 pm

PAY DETAILS : The typical salary for this position is $57,900. Individual salaries are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Listed below are some of the essential functions to carry out this job .

  • Perform daily postings to the general ledger, ensuring balances reconcile to control accounts and preparing daily financial operating statements.
  • Complete reconciliations of cash accounts, bank statements, and balance sheet accounts; follow up on reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Handles daily / weekly accounts payables tasks from scanning / uploading, research, and coding invoices accurately.
  • Performs clerical recordkeeping involving the typing, posting, verifying and composing of financial records and forms. This includes scanning and importing daily recons for record retention.
  • Contributes to the month end and year-end closing process.
  • Support internal audit processes and help maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting procedures.
  • Assist with research requests, reporting, and audits as directed by the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, minimum one-year experience in related field.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution's accounting / finance department is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word required); experience with banking / accounting software preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interpret and explain financial information clearly.
