Police Services Supervisor

What you'll do :

  • Supervise staff, establish, prioritize, and participate in daily functions of the Records Section.
  • Manage, maintain, and review police records.
  • Utilize computer systems and databases for data entry, information retrieval, and tracking.

  • High attention to detail especially with written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality and utilize good discernment and decision-making.

  • This position is critical to operations and there are three shifts (shift preference determined by seniority). These shifts include the following :

  • Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday : 1st Shift : 7 : 00 a.m. - 3 : 00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift : 3 : 00 p.m. - 11 : 00 p.m. ($1.00 / hr shift differential)
  • 3rd Shift : 11 : 00 p.m. - 7 : 00 a.m. ($1.50 / hr shift differential)
  • There are no exceptions or guarantees made regarding shift assignment. Applicants must be open and available for any shift if applying for this position.

  • Experience, Education, and Training :

  • At least three years of experience in responsible office work, with at least two years of experience in police records or as a law enforcement officer;
  • OR
  • At least one year of experience in police records or as a law enforcement officer combined with three years of responsible work experience with some supervision or leading a team;
  • OR
  • At least five years of supervisory work experience in an office setting with extensive use of software systems and a customized electronic records management system, with law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Licensing / Certification :

  • Obtain and maintain State certification as a MULES terminal operator;
  • Obtain and maintain a certification as a Notary Public;
  • Certification as a Property and Evidence Specialist (if assigned to Property).
