What You'll Do
The Medical Assistant (MA) will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and service to our patients in Queens and Woodside. As an MA, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary care team, assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our clinics.
On a typical day, your responsibilities may include :
- Taking and recording vital signs and patient history
- Assisting healthcare providers with medical examinations and procedures
- Performing basic laboratory tests and collecting specimens
- Administering medications and vaccinations as directed by healthcare providers
- Providing patient education and instructions
- Assisting with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing paperwork
- Coordinating referrals to specialists and following up on treatment plans
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment
- Supporting the implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive team cultur

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleaguesProficiency in Procedures, Equipment, Team members, and Supplies (PETS) in healthcare settings is essentialDeep familiarity with medical terminology and documenting patient information accuratelyKnowledge of standard medical equipment and ability to perform basic clinical proceduresAbility to prioritize and multitask in a busy clinical settingAttention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacyExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teaRequirements
What You'll Have
Able to work onsite Tuesday and Friday (part-time schedule, Queens and Woodside locations)2+ years' experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)Completion of a Medical Assistant program with certification desirablePrior experience as a medical assistant in a primary care or pediatric setting is preferred, but not requiredBilingual fluency in Spanish and English is a plus, but not requiredTo protect the safety of our patients, staff, and the community, we ask employees to maintain current vaccination against COVID-1Nice to Have
