What We're Looking For

We're looking for a seasoned Software Engineer with a passion for the frontend someone who gets excited about elegant interfaces, robust architectures, and complex client-side state management. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of our frontend codebase. You'll bring deep frontend engineering expertise and apply it to architect scalable, modular systems with best-in-class performance, testing, and maintainability.

You'll be the go-to expert on frontend engineering best practices, also working closely with design and backend teams on API best practices. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in complex frontend environments and is excited to bring those lessons to a growing, ambitious team. What You'll Work On :

Lead the design and development of our next-generation frontend architecture

Implement high-quality user interfaces that are fast, beautiful, and accessible

Build complex state management systems that are reliable and easy to understand

Define and enforce frontend code standards, testing practices, and validation frameworks

Translate designs from Figma into modular, production-ready code

Own the frontend development process end-to-end, from technical planning through QA and release

Develop new client-facing features and interfaces

Partner with designers and backend engineers to create seamless experiences

Drive improvements in performance, maintainability, scalability, and overall FE code health

Tackle complex architecture challenges, apply architectural standards and start using them on new projects

Help shape our engineering culture and frontend team as we grow

Required for this Role :

6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on frontend development

Strong proficiency in Typescript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS, and modern JS frameworksespecially Reactand experience working with CDNs and optimizing frontend delivery performance

Experience working on large, complex single-page applications

Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals : modularity, scalability, separation of concerns

Expertise with JavaScript build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and how frontend code is packaged and delivered

Experience with modern testing frameworks like Playwright, Jest, Cypress, Mocha, or Chai

Proficiency with working in a full-stack capacity (comfortable contributing to the backend code; experience with Ruby, Python, or Node)

Ability to translate visual designs into well-structured frontend code

A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Deep experience with application observability

In this role, you'll work out of our New York City HQ in Soho Manhattan at least 3 days / week.

Bonus Points for Any of the Following :

Experience developing serverless React / Next.js applications

Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, CloudFront, ECR, S3, Route53

Expertise in backend frameworks (e.g., Rails, Flask / Python, Express / Node)

Passion for developer experience and tooling

Contributions to open source or frontend engineering communities

Design experience

Salary Range

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base salary ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. Our ranges are based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including skills, job-related knowledge and depth of work experience.

The compensation for this position is $150-$185K base salary + equity + benefits
