Description

• Assist with direction of all school band performances, including marching band, concert band, jazz band, soloists, and small ensembles.
• Assist with establishing performance requirements, enforcing academic requirements, and verifying each student’s eligibility to participate in band.
• Assist in providing opportunities for band participation in curricular and extracurricular events, including concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, TMEA, and UIL activities.
• Assist with arrangements for transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town events. Comply with federal and state laws, State and Local Board of Education policy, and UIL rules governing band participation.
• Assist with evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to determine program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responds to student needs.
• Assist with planning and use of appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Assist with development and implementation of plans for improvement and growth of band program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment / alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees / campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
