2nd Shift Operations Supervisor – Wickliffe, OH
Temp to hire
Pay : $24 / hour + $1.50 shift differential = $25.50
Schedule : 4-day work week (10-hour shifts)
Hours : 2 : 15PM-12 : 45AM
Position Overview
The 2nd Shift Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations during the assigned shift. This role ensures maximum machine utilization, high-quality product output, and minimal downtime while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting with shipping & receiving experience and possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct shift activities to ensure production efficiency, maximum equipment utilization, and minimal downtime
- Oversee and maintain the quality of all products produced
- Conduct first-part inspections when Quality Technicians are unavailable
- Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping of the plant, production facilities, and equipment
- Train and coach employees on job functions, safety, and performance expectations
- Provide operators with accurate documentation and job instructions for scheduled production runs.
- Assist with machine setups and provide instruction as needed
- Enforce all company policies, rules, and regulations
- Always promote and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures
- Participate in pre- and post-shift planning meetings and communicate key information between shifts
- Troubleshoot production issues and escalate unresolved or emergency situations as necessary
- Monitor hourly production rates and complete daily production reports
- Assist in truck audits and loading of trucks
- Assist material handlers in unloading trucks and dropping coils for lines
- Oversee yard & material handlers that product is placed in the correct locations
- Verify that all labor reports are accurately completed and submitted at the end of each shift
- Manage and enforce work hours, including breaks, lunches, and cleanup periods
Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is requiredPrevious experience in shipping & receiving role requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional formal training or certifications preferredWorking knowledge of mills, presses, and other production equipment within area of responsibilityBasic computer proficiency and the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and production documentsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to lead, train, and motivate a production teamPhysical Requirements
