Estimated Salary : $90,000 - $135,000 per year

Full Time, Exempt

Aerex Industries is currently looking to hire a highly motivated and well-prepared Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. Authorization to work for any US employer is a pre-condition of employment.

Aerex Industries is a manufacturing facility that specializes in process treatment equipment, ASME pressure vessels, ASME B31.3 process piping, and components utilized by Municipal Water and Wastewater facilities, nuclear power plants, Oil & Gas, and other various private, public, and governmental sectors. Our teams of specialized engineers, technicians, welders, and machinists work together to execute the design, simulation, manufacturing, and testing of all our equipment.

Aerex Industries is an ASME Code-authorized fabrication facility possessing the “U”, “S,” & “R” ASME Certificates of Authorization.

Job Description :

We are looking to hire a talented mechanical design engineer. In this role, you will be required to meet with team members and clients to determine their design requirements, plan and execute the design of mechanical equipment, develop supporting calculations and drawings, and work closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.

To be a successful mechanical design engineer, you should be mathematically and mechanically minded and have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. A top-notch mechanical design engineer should possess detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
  • Creates CAD models, including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing, testing, and assembly, and support components to assist with assembly.
  • Performing calculations, computer simulations, and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
  • Provides technical and engineering support / solutions for day-to-day fabrication in the shop.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering quality assurance procedures per our quality assurance program.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Maintain project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.

Desired Skills and Experiences

  • Require a B.S. degree in related engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, etc.)
  • A minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer
  • PE certification in the state of Florida is required.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, ASME Section VIII Division I, ASTM Section IX
  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD modeling, drawings, and machine design with experience in design analyses (FEA).
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, and welding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to handle pressure.
