Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on the development of electric motors for off-highway applications. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to design, prototype, and validate new motor technologies. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and hands-on experience with simulation tools such as CFD and FEA, particularly applied to drivetrain components. The engineer will contribute to the full product lifecycle, from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development activities to design mechanical systems and components for electric motors.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and testing.
- Utilize CAD tools to model and simulate mechanical designs.
- Perform analysis using CFD and FEA to optimize performance and reliability of drivetrain components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing, and testing groups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development and production phases.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and quality requirements.
Years of Experience and Education
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering; 5–10 years preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.Internships are not considered as qualifying experience for this role.Skills Required
Technical Skills
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.Proficiency in creating engineering sketches and detailed drawings.Strong understanding of mechanical computations and design principles.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).Hands-on experience with CFD and FEA tools for drivetrain analysis.Soft Skills
