Position Description
DEFINITION :
To provide face-to-face classroom instruction through lecture, demonstration, laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions, and testing to guide students through graphic design coursework.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED :
- Receives direct supervision and / or technical direction from Coordinator, Continuing Education-Workforce Development Training and lead instructor of graphic design
- May occasionally receive general supervision from full-time instructional staff
- Exercises no supervision
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENT :
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following :
Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to studentsPrepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activitiesDevelop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade record individual scoresProvide classroom demonstrations on various equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments to provide hands on experience as appropriateMaintain accurate records of student attendance and performanceMaintain and submit all required paperwork in accordance with CFCC policies, including but not limited to : class rosters, registration forms, pay sheets, attendance forms and grade rostersOversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelinesOther Important Functions :
Assess the relevancy and impact of various lessons and recommend improvements as neededOversee and participate in field studies and assignments; travel with students to provide assistance and instruction as appropriatePerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications
QUALIFICATIONS : Knowledge of :

Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Graphic Arts, Graphic Communication or a related fieldMinimum Experience :
5 years of experience working in graphic design, print production or web design or related field.Proficiency in Mac-based-related software, including Adobe CS5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)Preferred Education / Training, Experience, Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in a related field5 years of professional experience2 years of teaching experienceWeb design experience using some combination of Dreamweaver, Muse, Wix, Foursquare or WordpressSupplemental Information
