Position Summary : A Fire Designer / Engineer III is responsible for designing basic to advanced building systems, preparing design documents and performing engineering calculations in coordination with project teams and other disciplines. They may support project management activities and are responsible for task management and mentoring of less experienced designers, which may include directly supervising / managing others.

Drafting & Design :

• Performs calculations and designs basic to advanced engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
• Prepares basic to advanced system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Prepares, reviews, and / or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects.
• Produces design documents.
• Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment. Evaluates products for their application.
• Provides technical guidance to others and serves as a team leader.
• Other duties as assigned.
