As a Simulation Engineer, you'll join a collaborative R&D team that leverages biomechanical simulations to develop world-class spinal implants and instruments. This role plays a vital part in product development, regulatory submissions, and post-market evaluation.

What You'll Do

  • Perform finite element and computational modeling in support of medical device development and verification
  • Support early concept evaluations, design iteration, and post-market assessments using simulation tools
  • Develop and execute models in line with ASME V&V40 and FDA guidance
  • Collaborate with the Biomechanics Testing Team to align simulations with physical test strategies and perform model validation
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles to interpret complex biomechanical challenges
  • Document simulation efforts for use in technical assessments, design verification, or regulatory submissions
  • Research and integrate emerging trends in computational modeling into ongoing work
  • Contribute to a growing simulation capability that supports innovation across the VB Spine portfolio

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing simulation models (medical device experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in CAE software (ANSYS preferred)
  • Understanding of ASME V&V40 and FDA simulation guidance
  • Strong technical communication skills and strategic thinking
  • Experience in regulated industries and familiarity with design control processes

    Compensation

    Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like qualifications and performance taken into account. The typical pay range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers a variety of factors including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
