Job Description

1) Ability to understand and make necessary changes required to draw, form, and progression dies to produce parts within spec.

2) Must work pro-actively and independently related to problem solving, solution finding and continuous improvement.

3) Reads and understands the specifications or blueprints for the work to be done and plans the steps to be taken to complete the project.

4) Uses extensive knowledge of available materials and the latest technologies to plan and select the material and tools to be used for the project.

5) Shapes the material by cutting, drilling, boring, turning, milling, and grinding.

6) Finishes and assembles parts by hand and uses scribers, gauges, and other instruments to achieve accuracy.

7) General knowledge of materials and heat-treating processes for producing parts.

8) Ability to measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.

9) Prefer someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience as tool & die maker. Experience with Manual & CNC Machines desired.

10) Machinist certification is desired.
