$2,296 per week

About The Position

Job Title : ICU Nursing Float

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : ICU Nursing

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : 36

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in ICU

License : WA or Compact License required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

  • Two years of ICU experience
  • Ability to take care of Swans, IABP, and Impella
  • Capability to float to MedSurg to take a full assignment
  • Competency in advocating for their own skill set
  • Ability to titrate drips in Critical Care and PCU units
  • Skill in reading tele strips

Description :

The position involves working within a float pool that covers various intensive care units and emergency departments.

Ratios include 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 for ICU, and 1 : 3 to 1 : 6 for lower acuity units.

Common diagnoses and types of patients will vary based on unit assignments.

The role requires the ability to manage sedatives, vasoactive medications, and paralytics as part of the nursing responsibilities.

Charge Nurse or House Supervisor roles are available on each unit.

There is a requirement for the registered nurse to read telemetry strips, and monitor technicians are available.

A call or standby requirement is not part of this position.

Units are assigned by phone call roughly 30 to 60 minutes before the shift.

The dress code is any color of professional scrubs, with business casual attire for training sessions.

Participation in holiday shifts is expected, along with a weekend commitment of every other weekend.

The schedule may be flexible based on staffing needs.
