Job Title : RN Supervisor
Job Type : Long-Term Assignment
Schedule : 36 hours per week. Day, Evening, and Night rotation, including Every Other Weekend (EOW) .
Shift Details :
Weekends : 12-hour shifts (7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM).Weekdays : Combination of 8-hour shifts (3 : 00 PM - 11 : 30 PM) and 8-hour shifts (11 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM).Total : 3x8 hour shifts and 1x12 hour shift per week.Summary of Position
The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative, operational, and clinical oversight for all services within the healthcare system during their assigned shift (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and / or holidays). This role acts as the clinical resource and patient care representative, collaborating with medical staff and support services to ensure optimal patient care and environmental conditions at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direction and guidance to facilitate the nursing process and supervise patient care through verification of established nursing practices and patient care standards.Serve as the clinical resource person for patient care and services.Ensure appropriate intervention is demonstrated in all situations (e.g., deterioration of patient condition, disruptive behavior, equipment malfunctions, etc.).Collaborate with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical services to coordinate clinical patient care or environmental needs.Conduct rounds of all patient care areas, emphasizing accurate reporting for high-acuity patients.Serve as the off-shift patient care representative , listening to and investigating patient or family member issues, documents, and complaints.Notify the Administrator-On-Call of serious issues, incidents, and internal / external disasters.Required Skills and Experience
Clinical Proficiency : MUST BE ABLE TO READ TELE STRIPS AND PERFORM CARDIAC DRIPS (titrate medications).Experience : 3+ years of advanced Med / Surg Tele experience.Communication : Effective verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of people.Charting System : Experience with the EPIC EMR charting system.Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).Licensure : Current Massachusetts RN license (in good standing).Certifications : Current BLS (Basic Life Support).Preferred : Critical care nursing experience.MGB-24394
