Registered Nurse – PICU

Start Date : October 13, 2025

Duration : 14 weeks

Shifts :

Day Shift : 3x12-hour (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Night Shift : 3x12-hour (7 : 30 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Schedule : Self-scheduling

Hours : 36 hours / week

Position Overview

LifeBridge Health – Sinai Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric, infant, and adolescent patients with complex medical needs. Nurses will float as needed to Pediatric ED and NICU units.

Certifications & Requirements

RN License : Active Maryland or Compact RN License – Required

Certifications :

BLS (BCLS) – Required

PALS – Required

Experience Required :

Minimum 2 years PICU experience

Patient ratio experience 1 : 2 required

First-time travelers accepted

Cerner EMR experience required

Skills & Competencies

IV therapy and phlebotomy

Arterial line management

Cardiovascular monitoring

Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring

Moderate sedation and drip management

Care of patients with respiratory distress, DKA, seizures, sepsis, and pain management

Ability to float to NICU and Pediatric ED

Unit Type : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Number of Beds : 6

Patient Age Group : Pediatrics, Infants, Adolescents

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 (days, nights, weekends)

Floating : Required (Peds and Pediatric ED)

Weekend Coverage : 3 weekend shifts per schedule

Orientation : 40 hours (16 hours non-billable)

Interdisciplinary Support : Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Transportation

Respiratory Distress / Failure

Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)

Seizures

Sepsis

Pain management

Special Procedures & Equipment

Moderate sedation

Drip infusions

Arterial lines and central lines / CVP monitoring

Ventilators, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP / CPAP
