Utility Maintenance Technician / Helper (Multiple Openings – Orange County, FL)
Locations : Orlando (32824, 32825), Apopka (32703)
Schedule : Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM (some roles 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM)
Pay : $17.65 – $18.00 / hr
Job Type : Temporary with the potential to become permanent
Overview :
We are currently hiring Utility Maintenance Technicians and Helpers for various Orange County locations, including Orlando (32824 & 32825) and Apopka (32703) . These roles involve maintaining, repairing, and supporting water, sewer, and stormwater systems, as well as general facility maintenance in industrial and commercial environments. Key Responsibilities :
Utility & Mechanical Maintenance :
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on water, sewer, and stormwater systems, including pumps, pipelines, valves, hydrants, and manholes.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostic testing (pressure / flow tests) on utility infrastructure.
- Operate and monitor system equipment such as pumps, compressors, and backhoes.
- Respond to water main breaks, sewer overflows, leaks, and other utility disruptions.
General Facilities Maintenance :
Perform repair and maintenance tasks in commercial / industrial buildings including :Lighting and fixture replacementsBasic plumbing (flush valves, sinks, etc.)Drywall repair and paintingDoor and lock hardware repairsPressure washingDiagnose and troubleshoot minor electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues.Support & Helper Tasks :
Assist in preventative maintenance : painting, mechanical assembly, and cleaning.Follow blueprints and instructions for mechanical work.Assemble and install pumps and mechanical fittings.Work safely in confined spaces and at heights up to 30 feet.Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalentValid Florida driver's license (Class A or B CDL preferred)Ability to lift 40–50 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weatherComfortable working around hazardous materials (training and PPE provided)Preferred Experience & Skills :
2+ years in utilities maintenance, plumbing, or commercial facility repairExperience with water distribution and wastewater systems is a strong plusProficiency in hand tools, power tools, and mechanical / electrical troubleshootingAbility to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematicsHazmat experience a plusStrong communication and teamwork skillsIND3
