Individual will provide contract support to enhance the services and flexibility of the current Capability Managers’ community from both the Air Defense Artillery and Field Artillery lines of effort.
The Cannon Training Aides, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) Integration Specialist will :
- Capture, and document user required capabilities and capability gaps for input into CNA IAW the CNA annual cycle, ICD, CDD, CPD and / or other required JCIDS documents as required to support future cannon training systems.
- Provide input for future self-propelled and / or towed cannon artillery (firing platforms and ammunition) TADSS performance and requirements related documents. This documentation will be provided to the COR using standard Microsoft Office products including MS Word, PowerPoint, or Excel.
- Review, analyze, and provide input as the lead integrator for system and non-system training devices for cannon artillery platforms and munitions; provide subject matter expertise to conduct DOTMLPF integration of current systems and upgrades.
- Coordinate and staff Training Aides, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) development with Product Managers (PdM), other CDID directorates, materiel developers, operational units (Active and Army National Guard), USMC, and FCoE Master Gunner Division to ensure current and future TADSS systems meet user requirements.
- Monitor and submit recommendations on behalf of current and emerging requirements / technology for TADSS concept development of future cannon artillery and munitions.
- Provide input into TADSS modernization and development of training devices for new cannon and ammunition systems in support of and nested with live, virtual, constructive, and gaming training strategies.
- Monitor and document cannon and munition TADSS utilization rates and issues with current training devices.
- Coordinate and work with appropriate points of contact within the DOTD, FCOE Master Gunner Division, and Simulations Center to ensure system and non-system TADSS will accurately replicate current and future Self-Propelled Howitzer Systems (SPHS) including munitions and other technologies.
- Develop weekly and monthly activity reports for use by ACM, CDID, and FCoE leadership. The status report will include the status of current TADSS utilization rates, issues identified with current TADSS devices, input from institutional and operational units, TADSS system modifications / improvements, critical maintenance issues, key future activities and other associated efforts.
- Update applicable portions of all briefings for presentations to foreign groups and delegations, ARMY, DA and DOD visitors and representatives and other individuals and organizations as necessary. The contractor shall prepare fact sheets, talking papers, decision papers and other cannon artillery TADSS related documents as required.
Requirements (Minimum Experience, Education, Skills, Knowledge and Licensure) :
Have at a minimum 15 years of experience within the DoD. This experience must include, at a minimum, ten (10) years of experience with the development, use and or employment of Training Aides, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations. Specific assignment / work history in support of the development of training aides, devices, simulators and simulations preferred.Have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in a field artillery military occupational specialty and minimum three (3) years senior level experience in Army or USMC Field Artillery cannon units (E-7 or above). Military Instructor experience is preferred.Possess an associate’s degree in any discipline. Specialized degree in education is preferred. Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.Have one (1) year of experience working with Combat Development and Materiel Development or the Acquisition Process IAW DoD Directive 5000.02 including the DOTMLPF- integration process. Experience in the DOTMLPF integration of Training Aides, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations is preferred.Demonstrate oral and written communication and briefing experience or instructor with two (2) years of experience to articulate TADSS concepts and future requirements to vested cannon artillery stakeholders.Have two (2) years of experience in briefing senior audiences, effectively communicating conceptual ideas in writing, and orally articulating thoughts to support the development of TADSS concepts doctrine and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) IAW Army Regulation (AR) 25-50, “Preparing and Managing Correspondence” (17 May 2013) and Field Manual (FM) 6-0, C2, “Commander and Staff Organization and Operations” (22 April 2016).Possess a SECRET security clearance or can obtain an interim SECRET security clearance at time of performance under the task order.
