Job Description

Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a full time Quality Control Lead located in our Chandler, AZ Plant.

Job Summary :

Ability to perform various quality control test on products to verify that all products meet or exceed minimum UL Requirements. Ability to perform inspection on cutting lines, molding / expanding, and shipping departments to ensure quality products are produced and shipped out to the customer. Ability to train and lead Quality Technicians. Standard work week 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.

Duties and Responsibilities :

\n

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

\n

  • Use dimensional measuring devices to ensure product meets job order specifications, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • \n

  • Enter all test results into company database and manage documents.
  • \n

  • Communicate quality issues with engineering, shipping and scheduling daily.
  • \n

  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • \n

  • Participate in U.L. audits on a quarterly basis.
  • \n

  • Act as plant liaison to the Tech Center in regard to all QC functions.
  • \n

  • Conduct root cause analysis regarding quality issues, identify and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • \n

  • Assist external and internal quality audits.
  • \n

  • Assist Production teams with process changes, quality plan documentation, and test requirement updates.
  • \n

  • Assist customer service and sales teams to respond to customer questions in relation to product capability and limitations.
  • \n

  • Help to drive continuous quality improvement and scrap reduction across the site.
  • \n

  • Perform quality assurance tests and visual inspections of raw materials, intermediary products, and finished goods per work instructions.
  • \n \n

    Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

    \n

  • Ability to train and lead Quality Technicians
  • \n

  • Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
  • \n

  • Ability to follow CWT's policies, procedures, and processes.
  • \n

  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • \n

  • Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
  • \n

  • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
  • \n

  • Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
  • \n

  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
  • \n \n

    Education and Experience :

  • Required : \n
  • Education - High School diploma or GED required.

    \n

  • 2+ years related experience required.
  • \n \n

    \n

    Working Conditions : \n

  • This position conducts its work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to some odors.
  • \n

  • Use of the following equipment in the course of the job duties : \n
  • Universal testing machine.

    \n

  • Power Tools.
  • \n

  • Dimensional measuring devices.
  • \n

  • Tape Measure.
  • \n

  • Moisture Meter.
  • \n

  • Forklift / Clamp Truck.
  • \n

  • Computer and Phone.
  • \n \n

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used :

    \n

  • Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor.
  • \n

  • Safety toe shoes (steel / composite)
  • \n

  • Hi-Vis Vests
  • \n

  • Other PPE as defined by management.
  • \n
