School Marshal Position
The Medford Police Department is recruiting for multiple part-time School Marshals. School Marshals patrol school grounds during hours when school is in session. This part-time work schedule is typically for a 25-hour work week, during the school year; these hours are flexible, depending on the school's needs.
We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated with good communication skills. The ideal candidate will value teamwork and collaboration and exemplify integrity, trust, and commitment to those we serve.

Work Environment : This position requires work that includes exposure to regular inside and outside noise and distractions, lighting, and HVAC systems in relation to temperature. This environment also includes interactions with the public, contact with hot and cold temperatures and a large variety of potential health and safety exposures.
Physical Demands : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the essential job functions, satisfactorily. These job functions include grasping, feeling objects, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting. Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired. The employee will be required to frequently : sit, walk, or run at any given moment as well as on uneven terrain. Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. See objects in a very low or bright or glaring light. Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them and where they are coming from. Focus on one source of sound and ignore others. Determine the distance between objects. While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side. Speak clearly so listeners can understand, as well as understand the speech of another person.
