Cook Brown, LLP , a well-established boutique management-side labor & employment law firm in midtown Sacramento, is seeking a Civil Litigation Secretary / Legal Assistant to join our teamWehighly value our employees and are committed to providing a positive work-life balance.We are seeking a self-starter who will thrive in amid-size (14 attorney) team environment and who takes pride and ownership in their work product.

Job Overview : This position will provide essential support to our attorneys by performing a variety of legal tasks, including preparing and finalizing documents, managing case files and calendaring, handling litigation filings and assisting with client communication. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to handling client matters.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide primary legal assistance to 2-3 attorneys, and others as needed.
• Assist attorneys in finalizing, serving and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Maintain and organize case files, ensuring that all relevant documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
• Prepare and manage correspondence, including emails, letters, and other written communications to clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Assist in trial preparation, including organizing evidence, exhibits, and witness lists.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases as needed.
• Calendar filing deadlines and court dates and ensure that deadlines are met.
• Perform other administrative duties as required.
