Full-time Senior Technical Designer

Our Client : sports retail apparel company

Full-time, direct hire position

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000 (flexible, DOE)

Onsite in Charlottesville, VA

Relo package offered for non-local candidates

My retail apparel client is looking to hire a full-time Senior Technical Designer to join their team in Charlottesville, VA. This is a critical position for their growing brand! This role is based at their headquarters in Charlottesville, VA.

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in apparel design, textile science, or a related field
8+ years of technical design or product development experience in the apparel industry
Strong knowledge of fit, patternmaking, garment construction, and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in 2D patternmaking software (Optitex, Gerber, Clo, or Browzwear), Adobe Illustrator , PLM systems , and Excel
Demonstrated ability to lead fit sessions , identify fit issues, and communicate actionable feedback
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative and hands-on team player with a no-task-too-small attitude

Preferred Experience :

3D patternmaking software experience (Clo or Browzwear preferred)

Experience working across multiple product types (e.g., woven bottoms, knits, outerwear, sweaters) and end uses (mens, womens, youth / toddler)

Proven success in mentoring junior team members and enhancing cross-functional collaboration

Passion for premium performance product design and staying ahead of industry trends in fit, technology, and fabric innovation
