Your Next Pour : The Opportunity

We are looking to add a Freight Audit & Pay Supervisor to our Freight team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end freight payment process, ensuring accurate and timely auditing, processing, and reconciliation of transportation invoices across all modes. This role will manage a team of coordinators and a third-party payment partner to drive compliance, improve invoice accuracy, and support cost control efforts through root cause analysis and process improvement. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include :

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the freight audit and payment function, including oversight of third-party freight audit & pay providers.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of freight invoices across all transportation modes (truckload, LTL, rail, intermodal, ocean, air).
• Monitor discrepancies and dispute resolution processes, working cross-functionally with carriers, transportation planners, procurement, and finance teams.
• Lead root cause analysis for recurring invoice issues or exceptions and drive corrective actions.
• Validate freight accruals and support month-end close processes in partnership with finance.
• Develop and report KPIs related to invoice accuracy, payment timeliness, exception rate, and claims recovery.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX controls, and audit standards.
• Collaborate on system enhancements, integrations, or automation projects related to freight payment platforms.
• Support annual freight budgeting and forecasting efforts by providing historical spend data and trend analysis.
• Train and develop team members and support continuous improvement culture.
