Electromagnetic Environmental Effect (E3) Test Engineer
Qualis LLC is seeking an Electromagnetic Environmental Effect (E3) Test Engineer to support the Air Force with developmental testing of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. As a Test Engineer, you will plan, execute, analyze, and report test activities to evaluate weapon system performance.
Essential Duties
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures based on system requirement specifications
- Identify and define test resources, equipment, and instrumentation required for testing
- Participate in system requirements and design reviews
- Coordinate with external stakeholders (prime contractors, facilities, government entities, etc.) for testing planning and execution
- Brief government leadership on test plan methodology and associated test and safety risks
- Oversee test execution and data collection activities
- Analyze test data in accordance with a developed data analysis plan to evaluate performance against system requirements
- Document system deficiencies and determine root cause analysis
- Prepare test reports summarizing test results, conclusions, and recommendations regarding system performance
- Present findings to technical stakeholders and programmatic decision makers in the form of briefings and reports
- Identify opportunities to improve test processes, procedures, and methodologies
- Adhere to all regulations and company policies related to safety, security, and compliance
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Engineering field or a Master's Degree in an engineering field (experience may be substituted for education with customer approval)Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceMinimum of 5 years of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) testing experienceMinimum of 3 years of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing experienceExperience with specification requirement verification, including functional, performance and interface testingExperience with selecting instrumentation to collect test dataAbility to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlinesUtilize resources effectively to accomplish work, including ability to work effectively alone and within a groupExhibit and foster cooperation and teamwork, enhance customer relations, and actively promote rapport with customersMust have clear and concise verbal and written communicationsMust be willing to travel up to 10% of the timeDesired Experience
10 years of EMP experience performing testing in accordance with MIL-STD-3023 and MIL-STD-188-125-1A on buildings and large complex weapon systems5 years of EMC experience performing testing in accordance with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464Experience working with DoD organizations and defense contractorsExperience with DoD weapon systems, acquisition lifecycle, and developmental testing as it relates to systems engineeringExperience with statistical methods to determine sample sizing and performance uncertaintyExperience working in a secured facility handling classified informationFamiliarity with developmental and fielding of ICBM weapon systemsSystems engineering experience on a major defense acquisition program, including understanding methodologies and best practicesFamiliarity with model-based systems engineering and tools such as Cameo and DOORSBenefits
