Border Patrol Agent
The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring immediately for full-time, entry-level career Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) opportunities. Salary and benefits include annual base salary ranging from $49,739 to $89,518 per year, with potential for additional pay based on duty location and experience. This is a career ladder position with progression to higher grade levels.
As a Border Patrol Agent, you will be part of a team that protects the American people by safeguarding borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing economic prosperity. Typical duties include detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws, preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens, and patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways.
Qualifications for the GL-5 grade level include one year of general work experience or a bachelor's degree. For the GL-7 grade level, one year of specialized work experience or a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement is required. Additional requirements include U.S. citizenship, primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years, and age restriction before reaching 40th birthday unless eligible for veterans' preference.
