Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a vital caregiver during assigned shifts in long-term care. You'll provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This role requires knowledge and delivery of age-appropriate care related to residents’ physical and psychological needs per their care plan. Your responsibilities include :
Assisting with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing.Obtaining and recording vital signs.Providing emotional support and personal care for residents.Helping residents transfer, reposition, and ambulate safely.Facilitating a positive dining experience by assisting with meals and snacks.Documenting care interactions and outcomes related to residents’ health and behavior.Communicating any changes in residents’ conditions to the charge nurse.Assisting with wellness and recreational programs to encourage resident participation.Maintaining cleanliness in residents’ living areas through light housekeeping and laundry services.Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.Minimum age of 16 years; prior experience in long-term care is a plus.Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or enrollment in a CNA training program within four months).Commitment to completing yearly competency testing and maintaining a record of continuing education (12 hours annually).Some roles may require registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry, depending on state regulations.May require a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle report.Benefits
