American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a NJ or compact license and AWHONN Intermediate certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Labor and Delivery unit with 21 beds averaging approximately 225 births per monthNight shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (7 : 00 pm - 7 : 30 am)Typical patient ratios are 1 : 1-3 in L&D based on acuity and labor phase, and 1 : 3-6 in the Women’s Health UnitRNs may float to high-risk antepartum / postpartum units or monitor high-risk obstetric patients in ICU, ED, or telemetry unitsPrimary duties when floated involve OB assessments and fetal monitoring onlyExposure to circulating for C-SectionsUses EPIC and CPN for chartingWeekend requirement includes four weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) during the assignmentFloating within skillset is required based on unit and hospital needsCare for laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients, including performing OB assessments and fetal monitoring18 hours of mandatory training modules, including 4 hours of EPIC training, completed pre-start and annuallyReturning RN staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before applyingLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelersRequested time off must be submitted prior to assignment and will be prioritized if under 7 days and no holiday time off is requestedProper completion of contracted shifts is required, with excessive callouts or missed shifts potentially impacting eligibility for future assignmentsFailure on job-related competency exams requires a 6-month interval before reapplication\n \n Requirements\n
