Position Title : Registered Nurse – Labor, Delivery & Recovery\nFacility Overview : \n\nThis position is part of a highly skilled, patient-focused Obstetrics (OB) team committed to providing exceptional, compassionate care for mothers and newborns. The OB unit supports patients across all stages of childbirth — antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-operative gynecologic care.\n\nPosition Summary : \n\nThe Labor & Delivery RN independently provides holistic, individualized nursing care using the nursing process for patients on the OB unit. The nurse demonstrates clinical competence, sound judgment, strong communication, and teaching skills while maintaining a commitment to improving the quality of patient care and ensuring patient safety.\n\nThe RN performs all functions of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned patient care under the guidance of the charge nurse and in accordance with hospital standards and policies.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\nProvide comprehensive care to Labor, Delivery, and Recovery patients.\n\nAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-operative gynecologic patients.\n\nMaintain and demonstrate clinical competency and effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and team members.\n\nManage supplies and equipment efficiently while promoting teamwork and collaboration across departments.\n\nAdhere to hospital standards of nursing practice, infection control, confidentiality, and patient rights.\n\nSupport the mission, vision, and values of the organization.\n\nRequirements : \n\nExperience : Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience with direct Labor & Delivery experience required.\n\nEducation : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.\n\nLicensure / Certifications : \n\nActive RN License (state or compact)\n\nBLS (AHA)\n\nACLS (AHA)\n\nNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)\n\nSTABLE certification\n\nVaccination : Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated per state mandate.\n\nSkills : Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient education abilities; effective verbal and written communication; computer proficiency.\n\nAdditional Information : \n\nMust be willing and able to work across Labor, Delivery, and Recovery as assigned.\n\nMust demonstrate flexibility and professionalism in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
