Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is seeking candidates for a Pathology Technical Support position to support a government customer at Ft. Detrick. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range ( or hiring range ) for this exempt position has been established at : $75,000 - $84,000

The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. We offer benefits including holidays, paid time off, health, dental, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and 401K with company match. Job Summary

The Employee shall serve as a pathology technician, providing necropsy, histology, and related support to assist pathologists and scientists in the Pathology Division. Responsibilities include supporting necropsy procedures, performing tissue collections, accessioning, histological processing, including molecular techniques like immunohistochemistry. Duties are performed as part of a team and independently, following guidelines from the technical point of contact (TPOC) and laboratory manager. Necropsies and procedures must comply with biosafety levels 1-2 guidelines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Variable work hours may apply, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Prepare instruments and materials for necropsies; collect and label specimens; dissect laboratory animals; dispose of carcasses per safety guidelines.
  • Assist as SME with operating microscope slide scanners and train personnel in digital image management.
  • Accession cases into the pathology database, maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform histological procedures, including molecular techniques like immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
  • Maintain and operate ultrastructural and molecular pathology labs, ensuring compliance with biosafety and GLP standards.
  • Evaluate, modify, or develop procedures; mentor new technicians; train personnel on tissue handling and preservation.
  • Operate, calibrate, and clean specialized equipment to ensure high-quality results.
  • Prepare documentation for SOP changes, track timelines, perform quality checks, and revise SOPs as needed.
  • Complete required GLP and other job-related training.
  • Perform duties independently or as part of a team, guided by broad objectives.
  • Attend scientific conferences annually for continuing education.
