Industrial Engineering & Software Development Manager

Location : Madison, WI

Industry : Government & Industrial Security Systems

Employment Type : Full-Time

Lead Innovation in Building Automation, Software & Control Systems

Our client is seeking an Engineering & Software Development Manager to drive forward mission-critical security and automation projects. This leadership role puts you at the center of high-impact work—managing a talented team of engineers, delivering custom solutions, and shaping the future of secure, intelligent control systems.

What You'll Do :

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in the design and deployment of HMI, PLC, and integrated automation software
  • Manage project timelines, task follow-up, and team execution from concept to deployment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and clients to meet strategic goals
  • Mentor and grow your team through training, career development, and recruiting
  • Own departmental quality, performance, and process improvements
  • Conduct regular team meetings and handle administrative responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites (approximately 10%)

What You'll Bring :

  • 3+ years leading engineering teams and managing technical projects
  • Proficiency in electrical control design and reading schematics (AutoCAD a plus)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience in automation, controls, or security technologies
  • Ability to pass a government background check

    • Bonus if you have :

  • Background in access control, video surveillance, or intercom systems
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field
