Hourly Rate : $37.19

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities-Plumbing Services, the HSC AC / Refrigeration Mechanic II is responsible for the following : installation, maintenance, repair of a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, and the associated climatic systems as well as the maintenance of coolers and freezers. As part of the incumbent's responsibilities, the incumbent observes and tests malfunctioning units to determine cause and prescribes corrective action.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Must have a valid US driver's license or the ability to obtain one if hired.

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of (1) one-year related experience.
  • Refrigeration Type 1 and Type 2 License.
  • A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Preferred Education

  • A Universal License.
  • Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair air conditioning or refrigeration equipment and associated climatic systems.
  • Ability to maintain coolers and freezers.
  • Ability to monitor, test, assess, and repair malfunctioning units.
  • Ability to perform major repair and maintenance on all sizes and types of cooling, heating, and climatic equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot, adjust, calibrate, repair, and replace electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems and devices.
  • Able to recommend type / brand of equipment to purchase based on experience.
  • Ability to operate standard shop / technical equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy mechanical / electrical construction / maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to operate specialized heavy / laboratory / scientific equipment.
