Hands-On Equipment Experience : Direct experience working with equipment — including repair, calibration, and installation. While our focus is on laboratory equipment, experience with electronic or mechanical systems of any kind is valued. Strong troubleshooting mindset and familiarity with tools and diagnostics are essential.

Mechanical Aptitude Across Contexts : Ability to adapt mechanical skills to a variety of equipment and situations. Should be comfortable understanding how systems work, diagnosing issues, and applying mechanical reasoning to fix unfamiliar setups.

Ownership & Accountability : Ability to manage tasks independently, follow through on commitments, and proactively solve problems without constant oversight. Must demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.

JOB SUMMARY :

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance activities in a clean manufacturing setting. Work includes inspections, calibrations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all systems within the company facilities. This role involves work in one or more of the following trades : metrology, electrical, electronics, plumbing, high purity water systems, and steam (boiler) systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs throughout the facilities, manufacturing areas, laboratories, and grounds
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building, manufacturing, and laboratory equipment
  • Initiate, complete, and close out work orders using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Schedule and escort outside service providers as needed
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in the rotating on-call program
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on one or more building components or manufacturing equipment
  • Assist facilities management in decisions involving areas of expertise
  • Train other department personnel in areas of subject matter expertise
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist with updates as needed
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with Department SOPs and ISO 13485 requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain general upkeep of work and shared spaces
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance

LEVEL OF AUTONOMY :

Work independently to perform assigned maintenance tasks

Make technical decisions within areas of expertise without direct supervision

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma (required)
  • 2-5+ years of maintenance experience in a commercial, manufacturing, or laboratory setting (technical education can be substituted for experience)
  • Superior mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer and email proficiency, including MS Office applications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Technical degree

    Knowledge of Building Automation Systems
