This role is part of the North America Technical Service and Sales team within Cryovac / Sealed Air, working with Sales, Field Support, Product Support, and Engineering Support to proactively solve problems with liquid packaging machines in a customer environment.

A successful candidate must quickly obtain a thorough understanding of LB and other competitive bag-in-box filling machines, lead installations and commissioning, and promote Preventive Maintenance Programs. This position reports to the Director of Technical Services and Sales for the North America Food team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering troubleshooting, rebuilding, configuration, installation, commissioning, training, and preventative maintenance of existing equipment and applications.
  • Provide timely service documentation and reporting to regional offices or departments as directed.
  • Lead installations and commissioning of LB and other bag-in-box filling machines for pasteurized and aseptic processing / packaging.
  • Promote and inform about Preventive Maintenance Programs to increase field sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Install equipment from the full product line and provide training on machinery, materials, and software to achieve customer satisfaction and regain or retain market share.
  • Order parts for new equipment, maintain tool and spare part levels, and coordinate materials needed for quality customer service.
  • Travel to customer sites, communicate findings, and coordinate with the regional office for service activities and reporting.
  • Collaborate with customers' maintenance teams to transfer knowledge for basic and some advanced maintenance tasks.
  • Identify competitive machinery or opportunities and contribute to market share recovery and improved customer service.
  • Work with LB parts team to ensure right parts are identified, ordered, shipped, and installed on time and with quality.

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent
  • 5 years' experience working on packaging machines in food plants or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate with maintenance staff, Maintenance and Engineering managers, and Plant managers; able to diffuse challenging environments when machines are down
  • HMI and PLC expertise; ability to upload new system programs; basic programming skills are a bonus but not required
  • Computer software knowledge; proficient PC skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with electromechanical troubleshooting and ability to read prints and schematics
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to train customers' maintenance teams on basic and some advanced maintenance tasks
  • Organized with attention to detail; ability to write clear trip reports detailing service visits
  • Ability to travel 60-70% of the time (typical trips 3-5 days; goal 2 weeks on the road, then one week at home, variable with demand)
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours to service customers' needs
  • Self-starter; able to work solo during field visits after training; basic training on LB equipment expected to take 2-6 months

  • Compensation and Benefits

    Pay Range : Total Target Compensation (Base+Commission) $103,571-$145,000. Offers within this range will be determined by education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs. Sealed Air offers a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other well-being benefits.
