Fleet Mechanic

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our growing company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy truck fleet maintenance. This role will involve maintaining and repairing diesel equipment within our facility, ensuring that all technical tasks are performed efficiently and effectively while maintaining high safety standards.

• Duties
• Track and manage preventative maintenance programs
• Perform air brake services, routine maintenance, and major repairs as needed.
• Diagnose and repair Cummins diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, air brakes, and AC systems using diagnostic tools.
• Prepare work orders and document completed repairs .
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety and inspection requirements ( Heavy Fleet NYS Inspector certification helpful)
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
• Qualifications
• Proven experience in a lead technician role or similar position
• Strong knowledge of fleet operations, including troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting major truck systems.
• Self-motivated
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong leadership abilities
• NYS Inspectors Certification
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay : $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
