What this job involves : As an Operating Engineer at JLL, you will focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all building systems while demonstrating technical expertise in one craft area and maintaining multi-skilled capabilities in others. This role requires advanced technical knowledge to ensure optimal facility performance while managing preventative maintenance programs, quality control processes, and safety protocols. You'll be instrumental in maintaining building systems at applicable standards while providing responsive maintenance services that support client operations and reflect JLL's commitment to operational excellence and innovative facility management solutions.
What your day-to-day will look like :
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to maintain facility standards
- Maintain responsibility for facility services including preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance oversight
- Clean, inspect, calibrate, and change parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels
- Conduct day-to-day maintenance of site and buildings while ensuring operational continuity
- Review monthly client service request summaries to identify and correct recurrent operational problems
- Evaluate vendors and suppliers regularly regarding quality standards and competitive pricing
- Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation
- Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
Required Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVACHVAC Technician Certification with 2-3 years of experienceCertification as Universal Technician for CFCs (or within 90 days of employment)Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and ExcelAbility to analyze various system operations, determine causes of problems / malfunctions, and take corrective actionAvailability for call-in work and potential mandatory overtime based on job requirementsCommitment to safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining clean workplacePreferred Qualifications :
Technical expertise in multiple craft areas (Electrical, HVAC, Piping / Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations)Experience with facility services management and contractor oversightKnowledge of quality control processes and vendor evaluation proceduresExperience with preventative maintenance program development and implementationAdvanced troubleshooting skills across multiple building systemsLocation : Onsite - Fairfield, OH
