Essential Functions of Activities Director :
Develop monthly calendar of activities; schedule, preplan and implement based on facility activity schedule and socialization of residentsPhotograph and submit activity results for special media pagesPlan and organize “special” activities for residents, including assisting with Marketing eventsCultivate relationships with referral sources in an effort to generate sponsorship and donations for planned activitiesCoordinate volunteers form a variety of organizations and local groups to work with residents on special interestsPrepare special snacks with residentsSet-up the dining room tables for activitiesClean up after all activitiesComplete required logs, charting and reporting in a timely mannerKeep all activity areas clean, safe, and free from clutterAssist residents to and from common areas as stated within their care planWork closely with residents to generate participation, attendance at activitiesAssist other departments with residents as needed and requiredPerform concierge duties as directedWeekends, holidays, and evenings as required.Qualifications & Skills of Activities Director :
Two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five (5) year, one of which was full time in patient (resident) activities program in a healthcare settingCNA license for the state of Oklahoma is preferred.Related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illnessAbility to work cooperatively as a member of a teamAbility to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organizationAbility to react decisively and quickly in emergency situationsAbility to maintain confidentialityKnowledge of training techniques for clinical staffRequirements of Activities Director :
Ability to lead facilitated group activities, comfortable working with residentsMust be reliable, outgoing and enjoy being with the elderlyBasic computer knowledge for implementation of patient / client information, electronic record keepingMust have current state driver’s license with clean driving recordCurrent CPR, CAPE certificationsEEO Statement :
