The Miami Correctional Facility is a maximum security Correctional facility for adult males. The Miami Correctional Facility is located in Bunker Hill. Miami Correctional Facility is on the southeast corner of the Grissom Aeroplex, just south of Peru, Indiana, in Miami County. Miami Correctional Facility offers several opportunities for work and educational programs, including a program where incarcerated individuals translate reading materials to Braille and a sewing shop that provides items for partner organizations.
Role Overview
Your work will be within the scope of the IDOC's established policies and procedures. The work is broad in scope and consists of complex routine and non-routine decision-making abilities. You must use considerable judgment in selecting the most adequate recommendations. Proposed changes are discussed with the Deputy Warden. The work is subject to review for general technical accuracy, conclusions and compliance with agency and institutional policy and goals. You will contribute to the development and implementation of institutional programs.
As a Correctional Team Manager, you will be responsible for recommending changes in existing programs and procedures which may impact upon total institution operation. You will work independently and possess sufficient technical authority for the work. Decisions and major recommendations are subject to review for compliance with department and institutional policy and attainment of correctional goals. You will make a substantial contribution to the development and implementation of significant institutional correctional programs. You will interact with both staff and offenders in a respectful manner.
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $59,800.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and / or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
