Experienced Product Manager, Retirement and Income Solutions

We're looking for a Product Manager to join our Retirement and Income Solutions team, with a focus on Participant Advice solutions. Those solutions include our In-Plan Advice team, wherein we offer participants personalized retirement planning advice by a group of licensed financial professionals supporting Principal's Target My Retirement® advice and managed accounts platform.

This individual contributor role reports to the Director of Product Strategy. In this role, you'll help shape the vision and strategy for the In-Plan Advice service, drive product execution, and collaborate closely across disciplines-including design, engineering, data, and business stakeholders-to deliver outcomes that matter.

You'll bring curiosity, open-mindedness, and a passion for solving customer problems, while gaining hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle-from discovery to delivery and iteration.

You'll be responsible for :

• Understanding the strategic direction while building, maintaining, and executing on key business outcomes and requirements for the workplace personal investing offering of In-Plan Advice
• Expanding access and usage of the In-Plan Advice service to new and existing participants through Principal's client relationships
• Supporting and enhancing the participant journey from first engagement working with an In-Plan Advice team representative, through consultation, and post-appointment follow up and learnings
• Develop and maintain deep knowledge of product metrics, using dashboards and other data / analytics to develop insights to become the subject matter expert on our In-Plan advice solution
• Partnering with marketing on pre- and post-enrollment campaigns to boost participant engagement and personalization
• Working with legal, risk and compliance partners to ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and supervision requirements
• Collaborating with e-commerce and customer experience teams to understand the voice of the participant and how best to leverage those insights
• Finding opportunities, clearly articulating hypotheses, spearheading testing and helping to prioritize work to be done
• Drafting and maintaining product roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders, understanding resource constraints and lift, adjusting focus as needed, gaining buy-in cross-functionally and driving KPI results

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$100800 - $182400 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
