Director of Research Development - Catheter Design

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic R&D Director to lead our Engineering Services team. This pivotal role will shape the future of our R&D efforts, focusing on developing innovative catheter designs from initial concept through to design transfer into manufacturing. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a leader who is passionate about both team leadership and technical execution.

As the R&D Director, you will be a key player in our leadership team and a site leader for our New Hope location. You\'ll work directly with our customers to understand their needs, timelines, and technical requirements, and will host them on-site. You will also be responsible for ensuring a smooth transfer of new product lines to our manufacturing sites within one hour of the Twin Cities, which will require occasional travel.

What You'll Do

• Lead the recruitment, development, and management of the Engineering team, fostering a culture of expertise, collaboration, and rapid response.
• Drive product and process development, ensuring alignment with medical guidelines and customer needs.
• Engage directly with customers on product development, prototyping, and project updates.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure a seamless handover of new products into Operations.
• Provide leadership and support for a team that includes an engineering supervisor, senior engineers, technicians, a production supervisor, and approximately 10-15 operators.
• Help define and execute safety initiatives.
