The Program Manager II is responsible for the cost, quality, schedule, and technical performance of company programs / projects or subsystems of major programs / projects. They direct all phases of programs / projects from inception through completion, participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes, and coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms / conditions of contract.

Job Duties

  • Acts as the primary point of contact with customers
  • Work with customers and internal functional disciplines to support quality, technical, schedule, and financial contractual requirements and address customer needs
  • Coordinate associated work, through functional leadership, of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas
  • Conduct briefings and technical meetings with internal and external representatives and support change board activity
  • Monitor and manage program activity to ensure customer satisfaction, profitability and performance to established performance goals
  • Perform risk assessments and create and execute mitigation plans based on results
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes as required
  • Coordinate / Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operating budgets, and financial terms and conditions of contracts
  • Develop and nurture relationships with existing customers resulting in new business opportunities
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master schedules
  • Identify program problems
  • Strategize and obtain solutions such as reallocation of resources, application of Lean processes, material change proposals for competitive sourcing and make / buy opportunities
  • Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer

  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program / project from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or Engineering or related degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in project / program management required
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently required in order to perform the job
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma preferred
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand
  • Preferred candidate has previous experience with Boeing, tools, and methods such as Exostar
