Mechanical Engineer

Qualis LLC is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Group at our Huntsville, AL office. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing space-related mechanical systems for radios, antennas, and power equipment. This is a position that requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and experience with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or test engineering. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and researchers to design and optimize mechanical prototypes / systems for a wide range of applications in a rapid-prototype environment.

Essential Duties :

• Designs mechanical parts and assemblies, including 3D CAD modeling
• Performs engineering analyses, such as weight and center of mass, structural, transportability, or thermal
• Understands mechanically based requirements and verification
• Communicates with suppliers and customers to exchange technical information
• Collaborates with other functional areas on various aspects of product design / documentation
• Creates and delivers engineering briefings or reports to support design reviews and activities
• Develops and participates in briefing materials for milestone stakeholders.
