Overview
Associate Structural - Transmission Line Engineer role at Black & Veatch (through Jobs via Dice). This is a staff, full-time position with relocation not eligible. The company is employee-owned, offering a hybrid work environment and a broad benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Support global transmission projects performing design engineering and analysis of transmission line work.
- Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards.
- Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Understand and work within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements.
- May assist with providing guidance to engineering team members. Maintain positive client relations through effective communication with the project team. May assist with business development activities.
- Engineering Standards : stay current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
- Quality / Continuous Improvement : continue developing knowledge and comply with Black & Veatch quality program; support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Engineering Production : prepare and verify less complex engineering deliverables; perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and / or materials selection; collect and manage data for engineering work; prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles; adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Project Coordination : seek guidance from supervisor or project leadership; coordinate with others as assigned.
- Client Focus : understand the needs of internal clients and gain understanding of external client interests; may provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology : share knowledge of current technology and processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or country of practice.Minimum of 1 year related work experience.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with utility-scale projectsExperience with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag10 or UltraliteBasic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design softwareStrong Excel skills and experience with MathCAD design templatesBasic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to the assigned disciplineWork Environment
Hybrid work options available after the first 90 days, with potential eligibility for relocation. The role may be located at Black & Veatch offices across the U.S.
Compensation
Annual compensation range : $68,838.00 - $130,650.00. Job grade 015.
