Engineering Technician
7am to 3 : 30pm Monday through Friday
The Engineering Technician operates the electro-mechanical test equipment for qualifying new engine components and new sources for engine components. The technician also accesses, creates or revises print packages and database information for new sensor applications and new vehicles. This includes determining the most appropriate sensor for each application, based on vehicle data, sensor characteristics, and manufacturing information. Other responsibilities include the evaluation of engine components on vehicles, procedures and specifications for sensor testing, modification of existing applications where appropriate, support for the manufacturing area, and design of sensor subcomponents.
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Operates the test equipment for new engine components and new suppliers.
Creates and revises prints and database information for new sensor applications and new vehiclesCompletes the supporting documentation for the print packages, which includes the BOM's, the print checklists, and the wiring diagrams, schematics, custom fabrication drawingsAssists design engineers in testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of new product designADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :Evaluates engine components on vehicles
Maintains a system for tracking timing and backlogDevelops tests, specifications, and procedures for engine componentsBecause of the changing nature of our business, this job description will inevitably change. Understands basic electronic circuitsPrevious experience with vehicles and enginesFlexibility to handle a variety of work assignmentsPrevious experience with engine components is preferred
