Position : Director of Food Service
Location : Uniondale, New York
Shift : Full-Time | 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM
Salary : $75,000 – $85,000
Position Overview :
The Director of Food Service coordinates all aspects of food service for residents, ensuring high-quality meal production and service. This leadership role oversees staff, inventory, equipment, and departmental policies while maintaining compliance with quality assurance and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the preparation and service of meals for residents.
Evaluate the quality of food production and monitor food purchasing and inventory levels.
Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of kitchen equipment.
Manage daily staff activities, production schedules, and storeroom operations.
Participate in staff in-service training and professional development.
Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the Food Services Department, including QA and Infection Control initiatives.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure consistent quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements :
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
ServSafe Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of nursing home food service experience
