The work you will do includes operating various vehicles and heavy equipment for bridge and roadway maintenance, performing minor equipment maintenance, assisting with repairs and cleaning, leading and coordinating the work of a maintenance crew, performing manual labor, temporary traffic control, basic carpentry, masonry, painting, and helping install highway signs. The successful candidate will have knowledge of typical construction measuring tools, equipment, or instruments and standard safety techniques, skilled in operating a variety of hand and power tools, and able to read and understand job-related materials and fill out reports and forms. The position requires a valid Class E driver's license and obtaining a CDL Class B license with air brakes within 10 months of appointment.
