What You'll Do
- Student Evaluation & Assessment : Assess pupils' visual functioning and skills to determine eligibility and placement.

- Instruction & Integration : Teach specialized skills like braille and facilitate student integration into regular education programs.
- Curriculum & Consultation : Develop curriculum activities that align with students' objectives and provide resources to classroom teachers.
- Classroom Management : Maintain a positive learning environment and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Documentation & Compliance : Ensure compliance with state regulations and complete necessary records.
- Physical & Mental Requirements : Demonstrate stamina and mobility for classroom activities and maintain mental acuity for problem-solving.
- Additional Duties : Fulfill other assigned responsibilities as needed.
What You'll Bring
Education & Credentials : Bachelor's Degree and California Teaching Credential for programs for the visually impaired.Specialized Skills : Proficiency in braille and knowledge of assistive technology.Certifications : First Aid and CPR Certification within six months of employment.Abilities : Strong organizational skills and effective communication in English.Desirable Experience : Experience with children with visual impairments and teaching in general education settings.Salary, Shifts & Location
