Part-Time Spray Technician

About the Role

Imperial Golf Club is seeking a Part-Time Spray Technician to assist with pesticide applications across our two 18-hole golf courses. This is a hands-on position responsible for safely and effectively applying pesticides to golf course turfgrass to ensure optimal playing conditions and plant health.

This role is critical to maintaining the health and safety of our courses and requires someone who is detail-oriented and committed to excellence. Past experience safely applying pesticides to golf course turfgrass is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. The Part-Time Spray Technician will report to the First Assistant Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities

Perform pesticide applications across two 18-hole golf courses, including boom spraying and spot spraying for weeds, insects, and other turf issues

Follow all label directions, safety protocols, and club procedures for chemical handling and application

Calibrate and operate sprayers and related application equipment accurately and efficiently

Maintain records of pesticide usage and application rates as required

Assist in mixing, loading, and transporting pesticides and equipment

Ensure environmental and personal safety in all spray operations

Report equipment issues or turf concerns promptly to supervisors

Qualifications

Prior experience safely applying pesticides to golf course turfgrass preferred; will train the right person

Knowledge of pesticide safety, turfgrass science, and sprayer calibration helpful

Ability to safely handle and mix chemicals with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly

Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive hand / arm movements

Ability to work outdoors in hot, humid, rainy, or otherwise inclement weather conditions for extended periods

Ability to safely handle tools and machinery with attention to proper posture and ergonomics
